Time Zone Change and Central Web Services
During the month of March, all the central web services will be completing system time zone changes from East-Indiana to Eastern. This change is necessary to accommodate Indiana's recognition of Daylight Saving Time (DST) on April 2nd. This will have the following impact:
- Cron/batch jobs that are set to execute between 2:00am and 2:59am on
April 2nd, will not get executed
- Applications that depend on the system time zone may be impacted
Time zone changes on Veritas, Champion, and the MySQL Servers (Triton and Callisto) will be completed by March 19, 2006. After that date, you should be sure to test your applications to ensure that dates are handled properly for DST, which occurs this year from April 2, 2006 - October 29, 2006.
If you find that applications do not properly handle the time zone change, you will need to adjust your application so that it handles the time zone change accurately.
