Veritas to Use Network Passphrases in New Linux Environment

The message below went out to all Veritas owners and contacts on December 3, 2007.

Greetings,

You are being contacted because you are listed as an owner or contact person for a Veritas web account. In January, as accounts are migrated to a new Linux web environment, the login password for your Veritas account will change. The login password for the web account will become the Network ID passphrase for the group account. This passphrase is likely different than the password you are using today.

To test whether you know the Network ID passphrase for the account, please see:

https://www.indiana.edu/~wmhome/auth/check_auth.shtml

If you do not know what the Network ID passphrase is for your account, you should request a passphrase reset prior to the start of the migration to insure continued login access to your web account. This request must come from the owner of the account. Please contact us if you are unsure who is listed as the owner of an account before going to the Support Center to request the passphrase reset. For information on how to reset passphrase for a group account, see:

For more information regarding this change, see:

If you have any questions, please contact IU Webmaster.

Regards,
IU Webmaster
