Web Account Migration Presentation
The message below went out to Veritas & Champion account owners and contacts on January 18, 2008.
Greetings,We contact you today with an invitation to join fellow IU Webmasters for a discussion about the new Linux central web environment. Topics on the agenda include a description of the change in terms of the server operating system and the impact, if any, to your web services. As with most new processes or products, change is certain.
While this presentation is an overview of the sequence of events taking place, we will also discuss the steps you will need to take to prepare for the migration. As example, you may need to create a Network ID passphrase in order to login to the new Veritas. (Champion is already set to passphrase.)
Another top agenda item is the importance of you testing your web site prior to the final phase of the migration and how to use a local preset test environment to test your IU Web sites.
Upon successful completion of initial system testing (target date, February 4, 2008), the new IU Web system will be available for all account owners to begin the migration.
