Migration Timeline

June 2006: Completed

  • IUPUI servers (Champion/Ramoth) relocated to Wrubel Computing Center.
November 2006: Completed
  • Veritas and Champion virtual hosts transitioned from IP number-based to a name-based configuration.
July 2007: Completed
  • Test TrafficScript.
  • Place central web server behind load balancers.
September 2007: Completed
  • Begin build of production Linux web server.
October 2007: Completed
  • Analog Log Service migrated to Linux.
November 2007: Completed
  • Callisto (mysql-test.iu.edu) migrated to Linux.
  • Triton (mysql.iu.edu) migrated to Linux.
January 2007: Completed
  • Finish build of Linux web server and begin UITS testing
February 2008: Completed
  • Begin testing of Linux web servers by select customers who utilize cgi and binaries
March 2008: Completed
  • Provide access to all customers for testing of the Linux server March 17, 2008
  • Begin permanent migration of all accounts to Webserve mid/late March.
April/May 2008: Completed
  • Throughout the month of April and first half of May, account owners may test and request migration of their Veritas/Champion account.
  • All Veritas/Champion accounts owners must submit a migration request on or before May 12th. [Date extended to May 19th.]
  • All Veritas/Champion accounts that have not migrated will become disabled at noon on May 20th.
June 2008
  • Veritas and Champion retired from service.
