How to download Secure Shell (SSH)

  • IU students, faculty, and staff can download it from IUware Online. The instructions below are for Windows.

  • For Mac OS, UITS supports and recommends MacSSH and MacSFTP for Mac OS, and MacSFTP and OpenSSH for Mac OS X. OpenSSH is packaged with Mac OS X. You can download MacSSH or MacSFTP from IUware Online.


1. Go to http://iuware.indiana.edu/title.aspx?id=36.

2. Click on Login Button.

3. Authenticate using your Netowrk ID username and password to access the software.

4. Click on ssh.com.

5. Click on SSHSecureShellClient-3.2.9.exe from the SSH.com's FTP site.

6. Click on Run button and then follow the instructions.
